Flower & Cycling Tours

TOUR 1                                                     DURATION 5 DAYS

Cyclists travel on separate bus with trailer for bicycles. This includes mechanic on board that can service the bikes.
 
Cyclists – 30km MTB route depart to Spice Route Wine Farm - beer and chocolate tasting – enter the potjiekos competition cyclists depart ahead to Strassberg route to Shoe factory - rest of group visit Clanville/Porterville/ visit the rooibos tree plantation – Picnic lunch Stinkfontein mountains – to Calvinia – tonight is spitbraai.

Cyclists depart for 35km route to Quiver Plantation – At Matjiesfontein enjoy potjies and stews. We then leave for the flower route to Niewoudtsville – overnight Lutzville/Vredendal area – Tuesbes Wine Farm will host you for the evening.

Cyclists will travel on the unforgettable route to the beautiful Lambertsbay via Strandfontein and Doringbaai. Where Tour guide– will meet group for amazing sea food lunch on the beach.

After lunch a trip to Bird Island and the abalone farm - Last leg cyclists will cyclists will cycle 38kms along the railway pass to Langebaan. Enjoy your own bit of Greece at Club Mykonos. You choose lunch venue in Langebaan – we then stop off in Blouberg for last drink.
 
OTHER TOUR OPTIONS 
 
Oak Valley Wine Estate: Rollicking route transports you along a fast and flowing trail = via some beautiful landscapes and pine plantations. Unfolding at the foot of the Groenland Mountain. For the whole family do the 14 km -Green Route – along single track with stiles and bridges – across farm fences and streams. More experienced rides may like the 24km Red route or the 32 km black route.

The Big Red Barn – Olifantsfontein Gauteng - this is a safe venue close to Johannesburg with varying terrain and a single track. These trails are for the casual riders – follow the 16km route marked with green circles – this trail meanders in and out the bluegum plantation. More experienced riders – tackle the route marked with blue circles or the one with black diamonds. The USN Mountain Bike cup was recently held at this venue.

Van Gaalen - Magaliesberg North West – top single track destination – great for day trips. Purpose built single track – travel through reed bush open veld and across rivers. These river trails have wooden and floating bridges – technical climbs – dongas – steep rocky climb - not for beginners.

Giba Gorge Kloof Kwa Zulu Natal - This trail boasts range of awesome mountain biking trails – with amazing views of valleys and hills. Distance up to 40kms – purpose built trails. Of the 11 routes to choose from – the 7km loop is the most radical option. Most trails have some tight corners and all protruding rocks and tree stumps. – All clearly marked
Mankele - Nelspruit Mpumalanga – Mankele has boardwalks and bridges – lung bursting climbs – big drops = river crossings and fast and smooth single track. It is MTB heaven in the Lowveld. Great training palygorund for South Africas top riders. – No matter what your riding skill there is something for everyone. All trails are marked using easy to follow colour codes and there are warning signs.

Karkloof - Howick Kwa Zulu Natal - This area is up there with some of the best mountain – biking destinations in the world. It has single track bermed and graded for a super tube ride along grippy clay, through indigenous forests and bluegum plantations. There are many access points – Distances 10 km - 20km and 30km.

Longmore Forest – Port Elizabeth –Eastern Cape – Endless hours of deep forest riding. Distances – there is a staggering 840kms spiders web of roads and trails in the forest. With speedy downhills to calf crunching climbs.

Harkerville – Between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay Western Cape – The Garden Route forest offers lots of route options , making this some of the best mountain biking trails. Various options from 12kms to 27kms – try the 14 km yello route mostly on gravel roads or the more tricky 12 km blue route – the 15 km has some steep climbs and 24km red route.

Seven Dams Conservancy - Bloemfontein Free State - Pedal between the koppies in this 86ha of protected area in the north of Bloem – home to small antelope and wonderful bird life. There are two five km loops which can combine a solid 90 minute ride.
